There’s something exciting about exploring a city with no strict plan—just a couple in love, beautiful evening light, and a willingness to see where the streets take you.
For Lauryn and Kyle’s engagement session, we spent the evening wandering through Cleveland’s Flats, chasing pockets of golden light and discovering unique backdrops along the way. From weathered brick warehouses and industrial architecture to quiet riverfront paths and glowing sunsets, every stop felt completely different from the last.
What made this session special wasn’t just the variety of locations—it was how naturally Lauryn and Kyle fit into each scene. Whether they were laughing together on a sidewalk, sharing a quiet moment beneath the bridge, or simply walking hand in hand along the river, they made every location feel personal.
One of my favorite parts of photographing in the city is finding beauty in unexpected places. A simple loading dock became a dramatic backdrop. Old brick buildings added timeless character. As the sun dipped lower, the river reflected the warm evening light, giving us the perfect ending to an incredible session.
Engagement sessions like this are a reminder that you don’t need elaborate locations to create meaningful photographs. Sometimes all you need is great light, a sense of adventure, and two people who genuinely enjoy being together.
Lauryn and Kyle, thank you for trusting me to document this season of your lives. I can’t wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day!
